Yes, the birdhouse is still holding up well without any maintenance. Depending on your location you may have to lower/better anchor your pole if you are in an area with high winds.

The post is a two part design. The base post is larger in diameter and the extension post rides inside of the base post to allow for the extension. See the bolt that holds the extension post into the base post, when this bolt is removed you can lower the house or you can remove the entire extension post.
